Last images that complete my {Temporary Reflection} Self-Portrait Series. These photos are post chemo and post port removal surgery 😁My last chemo infusion was June 22nd ‘18, and I’ve been in remission since then 🙏🏻 2 PET scans have been completely clear since then, and I have another one coming up soon. • I made a layout to show the hair loss/growth for any of you out there wondering what it’s like... I shaved my head Dec 25th 2017, and by a couple of chemo infusions, my hair had already started to thin out (you can see it especially in the March 28 pic) I’m glad I shaved my head because having my hair grow back was something that I looked forward to, instead of dreading the day where I’d still have my long hair and begin to lose it in chunks. It made a huge difference mentally and I recommend it to anyone that’s been told hair loss is a side effect of the chemo. • The images which are a side by side comparison, show no makeup vs. makeup. By my 3rd chemo, I had lost most of my eyebrows, hair on head had thinned out a bunch, and all my eyelashes were gone. At this point, it got real.... It was hard even looking at the mirror because I could hardly recognize myself. Thanks to some makeup help, I was able to magically restore some of those features 💪🏻🙇🏻‍♀️👁 Nothing a little make-up can’t fix! 😉 And then something really cool happened... as some of you know, I was fasting for 4 days (only water) through each of my chemo infusions every 2 weeks, to help with the side effects. Not only did it help with all of that (nausea, acid reflex, jaw/head aches, mouth blisters, etc... I could go on!) But my hair started to grow mid-treatment 💁🏻‍♀️ Fasting really deserves its own separate post, and I’d happily share that information with any of you! Please feel free to reach out about that. It honestly saved my life and I love hearing how much others are benefiting from it also ♥️ • The last 2 posts are my last chemo treatment and then surgery day for my port removal 🙏🏻 I’m feeling so incredibly grateful.
